In this edition of The Wilds View, Jacky Buchsbaum breaks down the headline figures from Budget 2025 and what they show about changes to the UK tax burden over the coming years.

While the next two and a half years bring only minimal movement overall, the later years tell a very different story, with substantial increases scheduled from 2028 onwards. Jacky also highlights the government measures that are expected to generate the biggest rises – including threshold freezes, income tax changes, writing down allowances, and new charges affecting electric vehicles.

He outlines which areas are likely to matter most to our clients, and shares a full breakdown of where the projected £23bn increase in 2029/30 is expected to come from.

Some of these measures land far sooner than 2028, and we’ve summarised the ones taking effect next April in personal tax changes coming in April 2026.
