This year, two of our Partners reach major milestones at Wilds: Lyanne celebrates 20 years, and Jacky celebrates 30.

It’s an opportunity to recognise their contribution – not just to the business, but to the people and clients who’ve grown alongside us. And it’s also a moment to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come as a firm.

A Journey of Change and Challenge

Looking back over the past two decades, Lyanne reflects on some of the turning points that shaped her time at Wilds and helped define the firm’s future.

“One of the most significant shifts was when we became part of the AVN network. It marked the point where we got serious about business advisory. We weren’t just looking at accounts and tax anymore – we were talking to clients about goals, performance, and strategy.”

The introduction of Xero also transformed the relationship with clients.

“It changed everything – how we accessed information, how often we talked to clients, and what they expected from us. It pushed us into a more real-time, hands-on approach. Suddenly, we weren’t just seeing what had happened; we were helping shape what happened next.”

Celebrating Our Story

Two standout events marked important chapters in the Wilds story.

The first was our 75th anniversary event – the first major client event for several years, bringing together clients, high-profile speakers, and our full team.

“That event reminded us of the strength of our community. It wasn’t just about numbers or tax deadlines – it was about people, relationships, and the shared history behind each business we support.”

The 85th anniversary took a different tone – a moment to look back at the changes, both in the world and in the accounting profession, that shaped the journey from the 1930s to today.

“We brought out equipment from the 1970s, shared stories, and really reflected on how far we’d come – and how much had changed. It gave us perspective, and pride.”

Looking Ahead – The Next Chapter

The next big shift, Lyanne believes, will be around AI.

“We’ll see more automation of low-level tasks. But our value will lie in the things tech can’t do – critical thinking, judgement, human connection. The future is about using our high-end skills to guide and support clients in more meaningful ways.”

Stories from Our Clients

As part of this milestone, we asked a few long-standing clients to share their reflections – on how their businesses have grown, the role Wilds has played, and the people who’ve been part of that journey.

“Wilds have been there for all of it with us – the best of times and the worst of times.

Jacky has always been there at the end of the phone to listen and advise on our sometimes crazy ideas and plans. That is the difference a good accountant makes to your business.

We haven’t worked as closely with Lyanne for as many years, but when we have, her advice and professionalism have been impeccable.

We’ve never seen Wilds, Lyanne, Jacky, and all the Wilds team as just our accountants – they’re part of our team here at Pama & Co. It’s been a great journey together, and something to celebrate.”

Kevin McHugh, Managing Director, Pama & Co Ltd

“Somic Textiles have had the pleasure of working with Lyanne for over 20 years, ever since she first started with Wilds. She pairs solid financial insight with sound, practical business advice. She genuinely understands our business, and I truly believe she has our best interests at heart. It’s a relationship built on trust, expertise, and a shared commitment to our success.

We’ve also worked with Jacky for a number of years. He’s highly professional and exceptionally knowledgeable, particularly in the area of taxation. Above all, it’s clear he genuinely has the best interests of our business at heart.”

Helen Borking, Director, Somic Textiles Ltd

“I have always appreciated Lyanne’s calm and composed approach. She gets the big picture but is not afraid to get into the detail. She holds the team together and always makes me feel a part of the Wilds family.

Jacky is one of the ‘big beasts’ of the accountancy world. Over my 16 years with Wilds, knowing he has always been there to steady the ship and make informed ‘no nonsense’ decisions has been very reassuring.”

Rob Edwards, Managing Director, Rob Edwards Ltd

“We joined Wilds in the 1990s after a recommendation from a friend and a subsequent meeting with Jacky. At the time, we were drowning in taxes. Jacky, with an enlightened approach, literally saved our business.

Throughout our time with Wilds they have been very professional and totally supportive. We are very grateful to every member of the Wilds team and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wilds.”

Chris and Julia Ruddy, Pennine Helicopters

These reflections say it better than we ever could. They speak to the trust, honesty, and shared experience that have shaped Wilds – and the kind of client relationships we’re proud to build.

To everyone who’s been part of that journey – thank you.

And to Lyanne and Jacky – congratulations, and thank you for the decades of dedication, leadership, and care you’ve shown to both clients and colleagues.

As Lyanne puts it: “The practice wouldn’t be where it is today without the team around us – their commitment, resilience and support have shaped everything we’ve achieved.”

Here’s to the next chapter, and to continuing to grow, adapt, and support the businesses that place their trust in us.
