Happy New Year! The decorations have been put away for another year, we’re all steering away from too much chocolate, and for most of us this is the first working day of the year.

Excitement may not be the word you’re using to describe the return-to-work feeling, but it could well be if you think about the plans you want to put into action and what they could mean for you.

What are your New Year’s resolutions? Dry January, booking the next holiday, or hitting the gym? Over the Christmas period, hopefully you will have relaxed and had some downtime, but for many business owners it is also a time to reflect on what is going well and, perhaps, what needs your attention. How does that list translate into actions that you are going to commit to?

It’s also worth factoring in what’s changing around you, such as the support set out in the government’s small business plan, when you map out the year.If you have targets written down that are important to you, this could be something you carry through and don’t stop before the first week of January is done.

So make this your first point of call today, before the day is in full swing and you don’t have the time or headspace to write down what could ultimately make all the difference to you.

If you’d like a sounding board to help turn those thoughts into a clear plan for the year ahead, we’re always happy to have a conversation.
